LANDSCAPES AND ECOSYSTEMS under pressure
There is a large variety of landscapes and ecosystems in the world. Ecosystems constantly change and are under pressure by influences from outside but they, in all their variety, are essential for the people who live there and for the planet as a whole.

DAYAKS
People travel. For a living or for fun. Dayak-people in East Kalimantan (Borneo) travel along the Mahakan river, their main access route. Now that big parts of the tropical rainforest on Borneo are being cut down, the timber follows the same route.

We see the increasing pressure on indigenous cultures and landscapes in other parts of the world as well. Pressure caused by climate change, by natural disasters, war or poverty.

The Netherlands have a history of interference with foreign cultures and the Dutch occupied colonies all over the world. The colonial empire diminished after WWII.
